Heat output requirements
There are many factors to take into consideration before estimating the heat requirements for a certain room. The age of the property, room layout, the amount of windows etc are all contributing factors. You can however work out a ballpark figure for the heat output requirements by using our Heat output calculator.
Fireplace dimensions
Using the diagram below as a guide, supplying us with this information will make it far easier for us to recommend suitable products.
Useful measurments to bring with you.
A - Width of opening.
B - Height of opening ( if no hearth, from floor ).
C - Depth of opening.
D - Width of hearth.
E - Depth of hearth.
If you are able to bring with you any photographs of your fireplace, these will assist us in identifying exactly what you have in situ at present.
The age of the property
This information will go some way to determining if your chimney flue needs lining. As a rule of thumb, the older the property the more likely it is that we would recommend a liner is installed. Please take the time to read the information relating to flue liners.
Type of chimney
Please take the time to read the information relating to chimneys. Of course if you do not have a suitable chimney then you may be interested in having a twin wall insulated flue system installed.
